Cubing journey

I’ve been cubing for 2 years now, and I have a lot of things to tell. So, in this blog, I’m going to tell you all about my cubing journey.

Part 1: the start

I started cubing, by watching the documentary “The speed cubers.” I was amazed about how fast people can solve the Rubik cube, this makes me want to solve the Rubik cube. So, one by one, I learn the way to solve the Rubik cube. Step by step, I learned how to solve the cross, the first layer, second layer, and so on, until I can finally solve the cube on my own.

Part 2: Matter of seconds:

After knowing how to solve it, my first goal is to solve the Rubik cube in under 1 minute, as I want to solve the cube in a matter of seconds. Of course, I achieve that goal, the same day that I completely solve the cube on my own. On that day, I was trying my very best, and when I got 53 seconds to solve, It felt like I had a World Record. But, I know this is just the start.

Part 3: The barriers

After Sub 1 minute, I bring my solving time from 50 seconds to 30 seconds. I’m very happy to be this fast. But, I know there are people that are faster than me, so I trained harder than ever, trying to bring my time from 30 seconds to 20 seconds. During the journey, I’ve met the luckiest scramble I’ve ever met. In this scramble, I saw a cross one move away from being solved and a solved f2l pair. I was so excited when I saw this scramble. In the end, I got a 9.26! At the time, I averaged around 22 seconds, and getting a solve under 10 seconds is very rare. I was overjoyed when I solved this.

Part 4: Youcuber

The term youcubers, are used to describe cubers that are also a youtuber. Around 2023, I created a youtube channel, at first the channel was supposed to be a gaming channel. But, in the end I changed the topic of the channel to Cubing content, The Channel is called Blooper Cuber, I’m still not sure why I named it Blooper Cuber, but it just sounded like a cool name to me. Before posting my first sub 10 solve, I’ve already posted some other videos, mostly shorts about fast solves. Pretty much, I post solve everywhere. I also have some tutorials and stuff. Overall, being a Youcuber, makes me feel like I belong with many other cubers.

Part 5: Sub 15

Sub 15 is one of the hardest barriers for me to break. It took me one year. YES, one year, which means half of my cubing journey is spent on sub 15. But, when I break the barrier, I feel like I’ve reached a new level, for me sub 10 solve is still amazing, but with the amount of skill I’ve learnt during the year, I felt normal to get one or two sub 10 solve together at once. But, I’m not fully satisfied with my result. As I know I can go a lot farther than this.

Part 6: Sub 11 (and a lot of achievements)

Being sub 11 is very cool for me, as sub 10 solve and averages are not something weird for me anymore. As, I made myself pretty well known in the cubing community. Another thing about being fast is I got a chance to have my name on the Vietnamese leaderboard. The most recent achievement is getting a 1.28 2×2 single. For me, 1 second is crazy, mainly because it will give you a high rank in my country. I also have a 7.10 3×3 single, which ranked me 65 in my country.

MORE ACHIEVEMENTS!

Also, being a youtuber I have reached 52 subscribers, even though that number is low compared to other people, but it showed that my cubing talent had reached many other people. Some of my best videos even go up to a 1000 views. I’m really proud of these achievements.

Last words:

Cubing has been great and it’s hard to balance between school and cubing, but I always keep cubing a big part of my life, even though cubing is just a hobby, and for everyone a small part of my life. But, one thing I will promise you. I will get the World Record one day.
